I’m currently forced to work on windows Vista, because I lost my laptop (long story :D) which had only (Thank GOD!!) linux installed and after 2 days of working on this wonderful piece of CRAP, I came to following conclusion:
If you do use Windows Vista, one or more of the below propriety describes you:
- Your name is Gandhi Patience is virtue but with this stupid OS, patience is a cancer you can’t get rid of!
- You’re a member of Fight Club You just like to be tortured!!
- You are a zombie You’re dead inside, nothing can make you angry, Vista crashes 100 times a day and yet you keep using it!!
- You’re Unemployed You have so much free time in your hands, waiting 5 minutes for each restart on each crash doesn’t bother you, even after 15 times!!
- You’re a Cave man You just don’t like stay connected, or you like so much using the CRAPPY way Vista manages the network!

I am on board the train from Bellegarde to Lyon Part Dieu, going back home at Rennes from my uncle’s place..
I woke up at 5:15AM but you think this is bad? First we made an unexpected train jumps, I was supposed to go straight from Evian to Lyon but NO why would they keep it Normal, and more surprises, where I am sitting right now on board this train ( which is overbooked by the way ), there’s a rooster just in front of me ( in the box ), which not even earphones can block his cries!!
Funny really but truely annoying!!

Hello,
I began recently re-writing SMO Ajax Shoutbox from scratch following MVC model, and I thought it’s time to make some changes to the structure of this site, so I’ve added a forum and a bug tracker hopefully They will replace Wordpress comments.
The forum is located under http://forum.nasreddine.com I added sections for most of my projects so please keep it a bit organised.
The bug tracker is located under http://dev.nasreddine.com/bugs/ I added all the available projects.
I also moved ViewVC and gitweb under the dev sub-domain, it makes more sence there so gitweb is located under http://dev.nasreddine.com/gitweb/ and viewvc is located under http://dev.nasreddine.com/viewvc however old links are still valid.
I welcome any comment/suggestion.
Happy Browsing.

I’m writing this article more of reminder to myself than a document for others, as I spent hours searching for an answer.
Apple has Changed the hash the database is signed with, so now libgpod doesn’t wotk with the new firmware, but the answer is as simple as patching up an XML file, so SSH to your device and edit /System/Library/Lockdown/Checkpoint.xml, Change the value of the DBVersion key from version 4 to version 2.
I take absolutely no credit for this discovery, all credits goes to Marcan

I have had a very nice night last night, I was with a friend so we went and bought vodka, beer, juice and bit of this bit of that :D. I finally went to bed at 00:30 AM but the weirdest thing happened this morning, I felt the bed moving WTH lol, so I got up looked around and I finally found out why !! A cat came through the window crawled under the bed and got himself stuck between the bed and the wall trying to climb there lol, Just look how cute he is. The problem was I wasn’t sure if I’m still dreaming or not lol …

It’s very important, when you are choosing an important password, to choose it well, always mix letters ( lower AND upper ), numbers and characters… A week password can be guessed via dictionary attack, like `home` or `computer` etc… A strong password can never be guessed via dictionary attack, ex: `]RmXpEB=1&` or `rl*~V3nM"S` …
I agree that random passwords are very hard to remember, but it’s better safe than sorry right ? Anyway you might think I thought of that password, well guess again
To generate a random, yet powerful, password I use apg it’s a small program that generates passwords, you can request both pronounceable and random passwords.. here some examples:
Generate an 8 to 10 chars long, pronounceable passwords
$ apg -a 0 -m 8 -x 10
Dabfiecaf
cebfaysHey
hivjebDoj
Kaneisht2
FiwauHyk
NiwryinkEp
Generate 15, 5 to 10 chars long, random passwords
$ apg -a 1 -m 5 -x 10 -n 15
y=/y}Ue
U^hV;DX
Y|'q@PWU}
Iz?J[M\{:
z0)g(3?bR[
W3'(PQ}8.
/]eb:]VkU
num)bQ
|q&Z6:)d5
I()jhl?I
0′[Pc1″<4
e1,`L”
WAU\
%o+n1+
9pIs'
Password Strength
To check the strengh of your password, you can use Password checker by Microsoft.com or this small Java program
Good Luck
